Ok … forgive the title, blame it on super strength coffee and very little sleep … but I do enjoy a little financial doom and gloom.

We have been telling you lot for ages that house-prices are too high and you’re spending too much money.

But you wouldn’t listen.

Bankruptcies are continuing to rise, alongside home reposessions and an article in The Scotsman last Saturday revealed that a third of British parents had no life insurance – a huge gamble on the home and mortgage should anything happen to the main breadwinner, or to either partner if both incomes are significant to pay off the mortgage.

The Scotsman also reported that aside from neglecting life insurance, parents are not reviewing their other financial products such as credit cards and long-term financial planning.

Get it together people.
